06.19.08 | Summer Update It's been almost a year since my last update so instead of covering what's happened since, I'll look forward to what's scheduled to happen in the coming months.
I've been playing bass and collaborating in the Majorleans and we are playing shows in the city and recording this summer so keep an eye out. I will also be doing some recording with bassist James Ilgenfritz and violinist Julianne Carney who also curate the Infrequent Seams Music Series throughout Brooklyn. In addition, I am working in a yet-to-be titled band with singer and songwriter Lana Zhlukto as well as some exciting projects led by drummer Tim Kuhl and vocalist Yoon Choi. I also promise (to myself) to finish my quintet record recorded last July in Michigan (see the below posting).
Hope everyone has a great summer!
07.06.07 | R Mack Quintet reunites in Ann Arbor I'm very excited to be reuniting my quintet which originally formed in 2003 with a performance at one of my favorite venues, Ann Arbor's Firefly Club. I was never able to fully document this project and have revisited the original music as well as adding a few new additions for our upcoming performance. In addition, we will be spending two days in another one of my musical homes, Thrilla Park Studios, where we will be cutting a record.
The group will feature some of my more familiar collaborators (Andy Kirshner, Andrew Bishop, Tim Flood, and Gerald Cleaver) and if all goes as planned you can look for the recording in early 2008 on envoi recordings.
04.22.07 | Apostles of Light Recordings Ziv and I are in the process of sorting through two sessions worth of music we've recorded in the past months and hope to complete a recording by the summer. In the mean time, you can catch us live at Goodbye Blue Monday on June 25th.
